Sales managers 'heading abroad'

A significant number of UK executives, potentially including sales managers, are seeking work abroad, it has been claimed.

According to figures produced by Experteer, Britain has a deficit of eight per cent in terms of the number of senior business personnel leaving the country and those coming from other countries to work within it.

In contrast, Switzerland recorded a net inflow of executives of 42 per cent in 2007-08.

"Talent is now far more mobile and we see increasing numbers of footloose highly talented individuals willing to relocate across Europe," stated Torsten Muth, UK director at Experteer.

Meanwhile, firms interested in retaining sales managers, as well as other staff members, may be interested in the findings of a recent Personnel Today report.

According to the study, giving workers access to such things as childcare facilities, bicycle schemes and shopping discounts can enhance the morale of their employees.
